It's posty mcpost time!

Why am I still awake at 130am when I got little sleep last night and worked really hard all day?! WHY... oh, the torture of my brain! I'm about to go to bed, don't worry.

So my family is coming to town tonight to help me move (tomorrow) to my new place. I'm hoping the internet gets set up there asap because I can't go without the interwebz!!! LOL. Anyway, so today is going to be a busy day - and last week was, well, a killer. I feel like I'm still trying to recover from it and that it's not happening. SHIZZY. I have so much crap to pack on Friday night - that's so not gonna rock, but I've been SOOO busy and haven't had time to do it because after I get home from school, I'm too tired to think, let alone organize boxes. Good thing is, though, that most of my stuff is still packed from 9 months ago when I moved in here. Except the kitchen. OH NO THE KITCHEN! *freaks out* I have so much stuff in the kitchen. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

:o)

My brother lives in Germany.

That's totally crazy! But cool! He left in August and I miss him. It's also difficult to get a hold of him (time differences, calling cards, etc.) so I haven't been able to verbally speak to him in over a month. :o( Hopefully we'll get some kind of calling system up and running here, and by that I mean either talking through the internet/webcam or just coordinating times between countries... so that keeping in touch doesn't become few and far between. Doo, I hope you still read this.

-----------------
In other news, I miss my boy. His 21st birthday (WOO!) is this December and I'm trying to plan something for us to do - I wanna escape the state for a few days if possible; or at least our home cities. I know it is months down the road, but boys, this is what girls do. :o) "Ah, I have three months to figure out what we can do, AHH!" *hee hee* At least that's how I roll.

-----------------
Today (Monday) in studio we are going on a hike; this little venture takes us two hours southeast of our school for a two hour walk-and-observe-water-in-nature-hike-thing. Hopefully that doesn't suck. I spent all weekend working on an exhibit for another class that I haven't gathered supplies for the hike-thing. Sunblock! I need sunblock! Inevitably, someone will have some, but why depend on others like that? That's right - don't mooch!

I cannot believe it is going to be the fourth week of school. Already! It just cannot be possible! I feel like we: (a) just started, (b) haven't done much work, (c) are about to head face first into some impending architectural doom incident. That's right, an I.A.D.I. You could pronounc that [i-uh-die] and you'd be saying how I will eventually feel regarding school, haha. Funny how that works. ;o)

So I've mostly finished my homework that is due tomorrow... 90% to be exact, so I am feeling good about that. So much so (can I say 'so' any more than I already have?!) that I am going to go read before bed. Yes. Laters to youz I sais.

But it doesn't feel like a holiday...

  • My parents came from [and went back to] their town yesterday. I wish I had been able to spend more time with them, but unfortunately, school intervenes with pretty much everything. *sigh*

  • Cute Boy went back to his town today. :o( It was a sad departure because he was packing up his car in his parents' garage while his mom moved her truck out of the way of my car, but then she waved to me like I was supposed to be leaving or something, so I left - and didn't get to properly say bye to CB, aw. I know I saw him all weekend, but still the goodbye hugs, etc. are mandatory! *huff* It just feels weird, is all.

  • I have no interest in working on my school stuff right now, but I know that I have to, but how can I be blamed if a certain copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows falls open in front of my face? Hmmm? ;o)

The GroggusDoggus.

The loss of one so dear...

It may not seem like a big deal to some people, but to me it is...

My doggie, Meesha, passed away today.

It sounds like a cliche, but I now know what it feels like to lose a part of your family. Meesha was almost 13 and a half years old. She was there through the major formative years of my life and I loved her as if she were my third sister. (Groo and Lis-bo, hope you don't mind.)

I will miss all the hours spent playing games and running in the yard with Meesha. Only three weeks ago, as I was cleaning out my room before moving to Germany, I found a tennis ball. Meesha used to love catching the tennis balls when she was younger, but hadn't done so in years. When I brought it out to her I could see the recognition in her eyes and she actually tried to play along with me like we did all those years ago. Her eyesight was not as sharp as it once was and neither were her reflexes, but that puppy spirit she once showed was still inside her and it made me so happy to see her that way.

Rest in peace, my doggie...

Her internal puppy spirit still makes me happy even though she has passed. Hee-hee, you could see the spirit in her eyes for sure. :o) I, too, miss the Meet-Beet, and consider her another sister, but I believe that she had a good life with us and that she held out as long as she could. :o)

ByeBye, GroggusDoggus.

And to show you all who she was, here is a video from Christmas 2006 where she was opening one of her presents. I call this video "Meesha vs. The Chewgar". :o)

Weekend of Freedom!

Cute Boy's back in town, YAY! Last night he went to hang out with some of his friends because one of them is visiting from out of town for this weekend only... and yeah, so a few hours were sacrificed for him to see his buddies.

Butthenhecameover! :o)

We're planning on going out tonight, I'm so excited! It's gonna be "our big night o' fun" since he had to bail for those few hours last night. Aw, how sweet. I can't wait until 6pm! Move faster, time! MOVE FASTER! :o)

In other news, school is a bitch. I mean... yeah, school is a bitch. HA-HA! We just had a grueling three weeks on this last project, including a week (which happens to be last week) from Hell with projects due every day amongst the four classes.

My fish fought this week. My cichlids. This is not good. Two of them had a mouth-fight. They were biting each others' mouths and one of them got injured a little. *huff* Fish from different continents (actually, it's my fault for mixing the continents... cuz I didn't know you couldn't!) = fighting. HAHA. After I moved out of the apartment, they haven't been the same. They are afraid of the fish tank light that never used to phase them. They literally scatter and hide when it comes on.

My family will be down here next weekend for a bone marrow reunion picnic. It's been 10 years since Lees-er had her transplant (this May 23rd), YAY for technology saving my little Lees-er! So I'm excited about that - I hope my dad doesn't have to work. I want him and for him to see our newly built studio! That place is nice. It is sad that my year of students will have to spend our 3rd year in the old building after it's done being renovated. :o( But for 4th and 5th year, we'll be back in the new building! I know this stuff bleeds over from the Architektin site, but I'm too lazy to just go post there today.

Why? Because this weekend happens to be the first weekend in many where I have NO major projects to be working on. I am taking FULL advantage of that if it kills me. :o) Things I'm considering for this weekend:

*doing my taxes
*doing my FAFSA
*washing R-box (my car)
*recalibrating R-box's computer
*taking photos of random things
*going to a hockey game
*baking cookies
*laundry!!!
*sleeping!
*having some wine
*my history bibliography
