And then spring break was over.

Long time no post, I've said what I've said a thousand times.

Today is the last day of spring break. :'o( Not only does it mean that my freedom will be ripped from my hands, but that part of myself will be ripped away along with it; that being, I feel like I'm not the me I really know and love to be when I'm so hammered by school work. The stress, the bad sleep, the fatigue... blah.

I had so much stress and fatigue from school that I didn't do anything much over spring break except lay on my sister's floor and sleep/watch a lot of tv/movies. I also did the same thing at Cute Boy's - lots of tv/movies. WOW, what a lazy spring break! I had so many plans of things to do!
I guess my consolation right now is that school pretty much ends in the first week of May even though finals extend into the second week and I'll have 1 exam to take for history. So I guess I just have to survive the next 5 weeks and then I'll have 3 months to work, earn monies, and spend time with Cute Boy!

It's posty mcpost time!

Why am I still awake at 130am when I got little sleep last night and worked really hard all day?! WHY... oh, the torture of my brain! I'm about to go to bed, don't worry.

So my family is coming to town tonight to help me move (tomorrow) to my new place. I'm hoping the internet gets set up there asap because I can't go without the interwebz!!! LOL. Anyway, so today is going to be a busy day - and last week was, well, a killer. I feel like I'm still trying to recover from it and that it's not happening. SHIZZY. I have so much crap to pack on Friday night - that's so not gonna rock, but I've been SOOO busy and haven't had time to do it because after I get home from school, I'm too tired to think, let alone organize boxes. Good thing is, though, that most of my stuff is still packed from 9 months ago when I moved in here. Except the kitchen. OH NO THE KITCHEN! *freaks out* I have so much stuff in the kitchen. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

:o)

A not-so-bad day!

Today was quite an easy day! First, my CAD class had an exhibit competition (my group didn't win, but hey, whatever, I'm not bitter - mostly because I didn't care about the exhibit in the first place, haha!) which took the whole three hour class period, woo! Then I went and ate dinner with some class colleagues. Thennn, I went to my Site Analysis class and we got out one half hour later! That's 2 hours early! YAY! :o)

Blar.

I just got home from school twenty minutes ago (it's 11:19 p.m. right now), blarrrrrrrrrrr. I'll post more later... or tomorrow... or whenever.

I wanted my Friday night to have some fun, but now I'm just too tired. BAH.

But it doesn't feel like a holiday...

  • My parents came from [and went back to] their town yesterday. I wish I had been able to spend more time with them, but unfortunately, school intervenes with pretty much everything. *sigh*

  • Cute Boy went back to his town today. :o( It was a sad departure because he was packing up his car in his parents' garage while his mom moved her truck out of the way of my car, but then she waved to me like I was supposed to be leaving or something, so I left - and didn't get to properly say bye to CB, aw. I know I saw him all weekend, but still the goodbye hugs, etc. are mandatory! *huff* It just feels weird, is all.

  • I have no interest in working on my school stuff right now, but I know that I have to, but how can I be blamed if a certain copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows falls open in front of my face? Hmmm? ;o)

I'm moving!

I'm not too thrilled about actually having to move... or it being the 4th place I've lived since coming to this town in 2003 for school... but yeah. The room I'm in is way too small and, between you and me, I always kinda figured this place would be temporary. I've only been here since the end of January.

At any rate, I told them I'm moving and I cannot really turn back. :o)

In other news, Cute Boy will be here this weekend! Only 1.5 more days! Ghhhhhhhh! :o) Now-now-now! :o)

Okay, so I need to get some homework moving, but I might be back. Might.

And I jump right in.

There is no preparing to resume architecture school. You sit and you try to mentally tell yourself that "It'll be easier this time around if you just stay ahead of the game", but that never actually works. So far, things haven't really knocked us off our feet, but one of these days we'll all snap and go insane. I hate the first insane day - it's always the worst... but when you're on your 14th insane day in a row... it starts to feel normal, eh?

And so I'm 100+ miles from my boy and that has me a bit sad as I spent most of the summer at his house/in his company. I guess I feel farther away from him than I actually am, but that is because we're both so busy and do not get to talk as often.

I'm still mourning the loss of Meesha and cannot wait until her cremated (sp?) remains return to us so we can add pictures to the outside of her urn. I see other dogs and they just aren't the same as she was. There is one dog here (belongs to a friend of mine) who might be almost as equally cool as Meesha was, but... well, he's not mine, so he can never be as cool, you know?

I probably should go to bed because if I stay up any longer, it's not going to be for any good reason except that I don't want tomorrow to start any sooner. Not that tomorrow is going to be bad, but yeah.

Oh yeah, this Labor Day weekend, the boy is coming to town! And so is my school friend's boyfriend! So we four are going to make a nice dinner and drink and have fun - I'm SUPER excited!

Also, I've been hanging out with Shifty (it's his nickname) a lot and that has been good. He was in a motorcycle accident on Friday night, and worried the crap out of me, but he did a good job of tucking and rolling and pretty much saved his ass by that + wearing protective gear. *thankful for that*

So now I'm going to bed. Goodnight all, I hope you're reading - I am going to really make an effort to post here more frequently. :o)

Two-and-a-half down...

The history review is OVER! Less than 24 hours until the exam and then I'll be almost free! FREEEEEE! *maniacal laughter*

So right now I'm sitting at a restaurant on University Blvd. while I eat lunch/early-early dinner and write my history exam essays. I will stay here until they kick me out! Heh-heh-heh... Or until it's about to get dark. One of the two.
Ooof, belly... SO... FULL! SO FULL! It is going to pop! Now I shall sit and relax? Maybe... :o) NO! There's history to do! *judo-chop!*

Sometimes you just have to.

Work got you down? School overtaking your life? Going stir-crazy in your mind? Find something you love to do and just take the time to shut out the rest of the world so you can do it!

You see, sometimes you just have to do what you want to do for yourself. Sometimes you need to tell all those things that you need to do to just shut up and take a back seat for a minute. Sometimes you just have to.

Like right now, for instance. Why are you just sitting there if it's really bothering you so much? Maybe it is bothering you so much that you feel paralyzed and unable to do anything. Right?

Take me, for example. Right now school is paralyzing my mind and my life. This semester was pure Hell. It compounded so much at the end of the semester that I am still not sleeping right nor eating right nor thinking right - I am definitely not motivated to do anything school related... and technically studio ended over a week ago.

But, as I sit here on the edge of my bed, my left foot on top of my nightstand and my right foot on top of the stack of library books, my eyes wandering towards the window... I type to you and say, "Fuck-all," like they do in Europe. Today is MY day, bishes! *goes outside to mess with car*

Holy Architectural History, Batman!

So my architecture history website is out of the way. No, I'm not showing it to you! Go away!

Okay-okay, don't go away... but you're not gonna see the site. :o) And... I don't feel like doing any other homework until tomorrow (which I won't feel like working on then either). All I wanna do is go hang out with my boy or friends and have fun!

Speaking of which, I just called the boy and he said that one of his friends is on his way up to visit, not for the whole weekend, but still, to visit. I am slightly jealous, I must say. I have become accustomed to seeing my boy every weekend. *huff* Oh well, this is my last week of school/homework for three months, so I can deal with one weekend of non-boy in order to take care of this crap. It's just gotta be done.

In other news, bye. :o)

Ghhhhhhhh.

My brain is a big ball of moosh right now. I had my final studio review yesterday and I only slept one hour the morning of... and four hours the morning before... and I'm not quite sure how many the night before that - if any at all... see what I'm getting at here? The last two weeks have been grueling and here's why!

  • Severe lack of sleep (I'm talkin' anywhere from 0 - 4 hours per night)
  • Eating only 1/4 of meals because your stomach ends up kicking you if you try to feed it
  • Waking up from what little sleep you just got and immediately thinking about your project
  • Not being able to fall asleep, even though you only have 1 hour to sleep, because you keep thinking about your project
  • Three other classes to manage at the same time - which all have projects of their own and finals approaching
  • Life to manage at the same time

Yar! It's just been one blur of time for the last two weeks. At least I think it was two weeks - it might have been three. See?! I don't even remember!

The dreads.

*sitting in a chair with calves-to-feet part of legs horizontal on top of desk*

What a funny way to sit, right? No, it's playful! It di-rectly reflects the mood I'm in right now. Why? I'll tell you!

Last night Cute Boy called to inform me that he would be in town later and, "what would [we] like to do?" Eeeeeeee! *excitement!* Don't worry, I still got my homework done - take THAT, school!

He arrived during the 9 or 10 p.m. hour, I finished building my model, and then we watched The Pursuit of Happyness - it was good and it felt good to just take a couple of hours to forget school and enjoy time with my boy. :o)

So school was really good today. During our programming class I sketched an idea for the building we're designing in studio and I think I can make it work as my final design! I hope so, because that would rizzock! After programming, I went back to studio, worked on my drawings and then class started. It was totally laid back today - our crit just walked around and gave some feedback. Only bad part was that he wants me to draw with a lead holder pencil (left) rather than my trusty set of mechanical draft/matics (right; click for larger view). Nooooo! I drew with the lead holder, though under protest, until my teacher left the studio - then I was right back to my draft/matics! I made it into the program using them, why should I switch now? They're awesome pencils - if you were wondering. They're heavy enough, too, to feel "quality" while you're using them unlike how cheap-o pencils feel. Plus, you never have to stop and sharpen the lead! A technique that drafting people use, is that we rotate our pencil with our fingers while we are drawing lines - this keeps the tip sharp - and it works better with mechanicals, in my opinion. :oP

So then I came home and now I'm getting ready to have a fun night out! For once, our homework load isn't overbearing this weekend, YAY! Also... Did you think you'd ever see me with dreads?

No!

But these are not true dreads! (I like to wash my hair, thank you! LOL.) No, but I have this putty stuff that I am going to use to dread-up my hair tonight. Why? For giggles - besides, when you normally don't do your hair or makeup all "fancy", it feels good to have some change - it livens up your mood! I swear by the physics of this! Heh-heh. I'll try to take a picture, though that will be difficult as my camera was sent out for repairs this week. :o\ Hopefully Cute Boy will have a camera he can use. And then... you're gonna have to be one of my MySpace friends - or you ain't gon' see 'em!
Okay, Cute Boy just called, so bye! :o)

It's Spring Break!

It's spring break! The arch professors gave us some "minor" homework (aka 6 hours worth) yesterday at 4pm (and then claimed "it'll be your lightest week of the semester"). Class ended at 5pm. *deadpan stare* Only 3 out of the 4 sections has to do it - which I think is slightly unfair, but hopefully this exercise will be to our advantage, as the group that is exempt often has slack requirements of them. In 5 days, I have managed to learn new arch skills at an exponential rate and it is all thanks to our boot-camp-like crit. He's firm with us, but fun-spirited, so it all evens out.

But at least the mega-weight of architecture is slightly off my shoulders for a week. Enough to catch my breath. Hopefully I can get my homework done in time to go on a road trip with Cute Boy - we've been talking about it for about two weeks or more now. We haven't really decided on a destination yet, well, we have, but we're not sure if it'll work out - so we're not putting all our hopes into it.

Some of our ideas include:

-Escaping to another state
-Escaping to another town in this state and possibly get a cabin/hotel/or go camping
-I don't know what else, haha

All I know is that it doesn't matter where we go because we'll end up having fun and taking a ton o' pics. Mmm... pics. And it's the whole "journey" aspect of it too. We are too content to just be wherever. Mmm... I like that contentness.

:o)

Why I hate American schooling.

Some teachers are great. Some schools are great. Generally, most are not. In the case of America's schooling, we students are typically force-fed a ton of information and expected to process it at the same rate as our classmates. This is usually not a good idea; students struggle more than professors know. You know those times when one kid is brave enough to ask the professor a question and you find yourself thinking, "Thankfully someone else asked because I really have no idea what the crap I'm doing,"? Yeah... those kids don't always ask.

But in the case of assumption, it's even more frustrating. It is really frustrating going into my structures course and hearing the professor say, "I'm assuming you all learned how to use the Law of Sines in your trigonometry classes, so here's what you plug in and here's the answer." They do that and skip virtually every helpful step in between that is critical to knowing how to do the problem. Then you have me, who is way too shy to say, "I don't get it," in the middle of a class. I've never been comfortable with saying that - especially when you're in a class of kids that will scoff at you for doing so. Not to mention it sets the class back. I worry too much.

But still the point remains that we're all expected to learn at the same rate and, last time I checked, everyone learns differently.

The Law of Sines is now on my hit list. You've been warned Law of Sines, you've been warned.

It's Blunday!

Yay for Blunday! No... Actually, today wasn't that bad of a Monday. Cute Boy left shortly after noon and headed back to his town for class. Then I got ready and booked it to school. Actually, there really wasn't any booking, perse, because I didn't give a flying F*** if I walked in after the professors were "talking". Their habit these days has been to start class late (by an hour or so), thus wasting our educational time. How am I supposed to respect them if they aren't respecting our dedication to be there on time to learn... from them. Bastages.

So after studio I went to my car in the parking garage (yeah, I drove to school even though I can technically walk there... take THAT environment! actually, my parking permit is paid for so I might as well use it, eh?) so I could go to the library's parking garage (there's no way I'm walking across campus alone after the sun sets, are you crazy?!), and upon start-up, my car idles funny and throws a CEL (check engine light). "YARRR!" <---(the sound my brain made) So I plugged my laptop into the car and managed to get the CEL code... "Speed sensor wha-?" Bah. So after turning off the car and restarting it, it was fine. *shakes fist at R-box* The CEL was probably caused by me messing with things on a daily basis, but, eh, whattayagonnado?!

In the library, I went from floor to floor looking for the d*** architectural section. The library isn't very clear about where it places things... That and there are a LOT of f-ing books to navigate through. So finally, after finding a map on the end of one of the bookshelves, I managed to nav my way to the arch books where I started to find ones that would suppliment the church I'm critiquing for my project. I couldn't find anything more than few-page articles on the church, as it was built in 2000. *huff* But yay for Richard Meier! (Google him if you want to know more about this cool architect man.) I checked out 9 books!

So then I came home and unloaded the car (there's a lot of stuff to carry too and from school, ugh)... and came inside to find out my Roomy's dad had replaced our toilet! YAY! It recently started leaking...

And I checked my email to find out that the flower company is sending me new tulips free of charge because the ones for Valentine's Day (from my parents) got stuck in the snow hold-up back East, didn't make it here on time, and were kinda wilty. YAY FREE FLOWERS! Aw, Double Valentine's Day!

Today is Mandies' birthday! Happy 25th Birthday to you, Mandies!

Tomorrow is K's birthday, so Happy Birthday to him! It is also Janeal's birthday! YAY, birthdays!

Okay, I seriously need to start working on this homework that is due tomorrow at 11 a.m. Maybe I'll update more after I finish it. Bye!

Weekend of Freedom!

Cute Boy's back in town, YAY! Last night he went to hang out with some of his friends because one of them is visiting from out of town for this weekend only... and yeah, so a few hours were sacrificed for him to see his buddies.

Butthenhecameover! :o)

We're planning on going out tonight, I'm so excited! It's gonna be "our big night o' fun" since he had to bail for those few hours last night. Aw, how sweet. I can't wait until 6pm! Move faster, time! MOVE FASTER! :o)

In other news, school is a bitch. I mean... yeah, school is a bitch. HA-HA! We just had a grueling three weeks on this last project, including a week (which happens to be last week) from Hell with projects due every day amongst the four classes.

My fish fought this week. My cichlids. This is not good. Two of them had a mouth-fight. They were biting each others' mouths and one of them got injured a little. *huff* Fish from different continents (actually, it's my fault for mixing the continents... cuz I didn't know you couldn't!) = fighting. HAHA. After I moved out of the apartment, they haven't been the same. They are afraid of the fish tank light that never used to phase them. They literally scatter and hide when it comes on.

My family will be down here next weekend for a bone marrow reunion picnic. It's been 10 years since Lees-er had her transplant (this May 23rd), YAY for technology saving my little Lees-er! So I'm excited about that - I hope my dad doesn't have to work. I want him and for him to see our newly built studio! That place is nice. It is sad that my year of students will have to spend our 3rd year in the old building after it's done being renovated. :o( But for 4th and 5th year, we'll be back in the new building! I know this stuff bleeds over from the Architektin site, but I'm too lazy to just go post there today.

Why? Because this weekend happens to be the first weekend in many where I have NO major projects to be working on. I am taking FULL advantage of that if it kills me. :o) Things I'm considering for this weekend:

*doing my taxes
*doing my FAFSA
*washing R-box (my car)
*recalibrating R-box's computer
*taking photos of random things
*going to a hockey game
*baking cookies
*laundry!!!
*sleeping!
*having some wine
*my history bibliography

i'm back... in pog form? aw, crap.

things as of late have been generally unhappy. i'm mostly talking about school. the professors have tried running things differently this semester and it's making us all really cranky. a handful of students brought up this notion with one of the professors yesterday - actually, they kind of cranked at him, HA HA, poor guy (he's nice, but clearly should retire). at any rate, all we can do is work through it and get to summer. WOO summer! come on, you bish!

i guess that's why i haven't posted lately. just been kind of "eh". not like anybody reads this anyway. :o) probably like 0.2 of you. i hate the rest of you, heh-heh.

but i'm settled into my new house and so that's all good; tinier than the apartment i moved out of, so that's not cool. that is, the whole house is tinier than my former apartment. 756 sq. ft. to be exact. My apartment was 800 sq. ft. Funny how things like that work. I miss that place sometimes... but I don't miss the drive to/from there because it took me 20+ minutes and was 12 miles each leg.

spring break is nearing! ...in a month, but no less! springy! breaky! wooooooo! hopefully they don't load us down with too much homework because i know everyone is going to need a break to try to regain sanity - we already need it now. yuoy.

my 12 fishies are now in my room instead of the living room - this makes me happy. i get to see their little round bellies swimming around the tank all the time. mmm... ^_^ it's the cutest when they get hungry because they all swarm to the top of the tank and then i feed them. aw, cute.

oh, and ow, my back hurts. :oD

Hello, Bishes.

So what's up, Bishes? I've been a busy bee lately. Busy and insane. School has been hectic. Moving was hectic as well. Sick was not good. So not good.

But what IS good is that I get a day or so to just VEG. Veg-o-matic. That's my title of ac-tiv-i-tay until Monday at 1pm. Mmm... sweet-sweet doing nothing and loving every minute of it!

BYE, BISHES!
